Thank you Our long distance walk for 2004 consisted of the 93 mile West Highland Way and the 73 Great Glen Way, which we did from 25th May through to 6th June. The West Highland Way was the first official long-distance to be established under the Countryside (Scotland) Act of 1967, and was officially opened in 1980. It starts in Milngavie, part of greater Glasgow and runs to Fort William. Our first three days took us along the eastern shore to the northern end of The next two days towards and crossing the barren wilderness of The final two days ascends the Devil's Staircase above Glencoe and traverses classic to pass Ben Nevis and end at Fort William.
