Our long distance walk for 2004 consisted of the 93 mile West Highland Way and the 73 Great Glen Way, which we did from 25th May through to 6th June.

The Great Glen Way runs 73 miles from Fort William to Inverness alongside the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness, and was opened on 30 April 2002 by HRH Prince Andrew.

Our first two days took us to past Loch Lochy to Laggan alongside the

Caledonian Canal            Neptune's Staircase of locks near Banavie.

The next day took us to Fort Augustus, at the foot of Loch Ness, past

Loch Oich                      Boats on the Caledonian Canal near the Bidge at Aberchalder.

The final three days was alongside  and above

Loch Ness                     Loch Ness looking north from Alltsigh Youth Hostel.

to end at the Castle in Inverness.
