Enterprise Island

The 3433 ton Guvernoren was converted to a whaling ship in 1912. She caught fire on 27th January 1915 and grounded at Enterprise Island in order to rescue men and supplies.  There were no fatalities. It is a popular place for yachts to tie up on their way through the area.

Andvord Bay

     
Andvord Bay penetrates deep into the Antarctic Peninsular, and once inside is surrounded by mountains and glaciers.

Neko harbour is named for a whaling ship, which anchored there in the early 1900's. It features an Argentine refuge hut and a gentoo colony.

Paradise Harbour

     
Paradise Harbour is aptly named because it affords protection from storm winds from almost any direction The Argentinean base of Almirante Brown is located near Skontrop Cove in Paradise Harbour and is named after William Brown, an Irish immigrant, who became known as the father of the Argentinean Navy.  The base was burnt down in 1984 by the stations doctor.
